Cookie Policy

Definitions, characteristics and application of the legislation

Cookies are small text files that the sites you visit send and record on your computer or mobile device, and are retransmitted to the same sites the next time you visit. Thanks to cookies, a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, the language chosen, font size, other display settings, etc..) so that they do not have to be indicated again when the user returns to visit that site or browse from one page to another of it. Cookies, therefore, are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information regarding the activities of users who access a site and may also contain a unique identification code that makes it possible to keep track of your navigation within the site for statistical or advertising purposes. While browsing a site, the user may also receive cookies on his computer from sites or web servers other than the one he is visiting (so-called “third party” cookies). Some operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which in some cases are therefore technically necessary for the very operation of the site.

There are various types of cookies, depending on their characteristics and functions, and these may remain on the user’s computer for different periods of time: so-called session cookies, which are automatically deleted when the browser is closed; so-called persistent cookies, which remain on the user’s equipment until a set deadline

Under current Italian law, the use of cookies does not always require the express consent of the user. In particular, “technical cookies”, i.e. those used for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communication network or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, do not require such consent. In other words, these cookies are indispensable for the operation of the site or necessary to perform activities requested by the user.

Among the technical cookies, which do not require express consent for their use, the Italian Personal Data Protection Authority (see Provision Identifying simplified procedures for the information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies of 8 May 2014 and subsequent clarifications, hereinafter only “Provision”) also includes:

  • cookie analytics” when used directly by the operator of the site to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and on how they visit the site,
  • browser or session cookies (for authentication),
  • function cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to same.

For “profiling cookies”, vice versa, i.e. those aimed at creating user profiles and used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while surfing the web, prior consent of the user is required.

Types of cookies used by the Site

We have classified the cookies we use according to their type of use in:

  1. browser or session
  2. functionality
  3. analytics
  1. BROWSER OR SESSION COOKIES

These are cookies that allow normal use of the site and its services such as making a purchase, logging in to access restricted areas or maintain your personal preferences. This type of cookie can then be distinguished by its persistence on the user’s terminal: those that are automatically deleted at the end of each period of navigation, are called “session cookies” (for example the aforementioned shopping cart online). If, on the other hand, they have a longer life, they are referred to as “permanent cookies”. These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site and the installation does not require the prior consent of users.

  1. FUNCTIONALITY COOKIES

We use these cookies to provide services or to remember your settings, to improve your visit and the experience of browsing our site. The installation of these cookies does not require the user’s prior consent.

Here is a list of cookies:

Cookie analytics are similar to technical cookies where they are used directly by the site operator to collect aggregate information on the number of users and on how they visit the site: the installation of these cookies does not require the user’s prior consent.
