#IoNonSprecoConSaveBag - Cuki and Just Eat together against food waste

Cuki and Just Eat join forces to fight food waste!

Consistent with the social commitment of the two companies, on 5 February, 2019, the 6th National Day of Food Waste Prevention (#SprecoZero), the co-branding activity #iononsprecoconsavebag will get underway and will last through the month of February.

Cuki Save Bag, the Cuki doggy bag equipped with a handy wrapper and recyclable handle, will be distributed free of charge in the first 50 Just Eat partner restaurants in Milan, Rome and Turin and then throughout Italy thanks to the possibility, for more than 10,000 Just Eat partner restaurants, to ask for free Save Bags in the dedicated shop.

The Just Eat Solidarity Restaurant project, in collaboration with Pony Zero and Caritas, is already helping many communities and families with food donations.

The third important player in the project is Banco Alimentare, an Italian non-profit organisation that for thirty years has been involved in the recovery and redistribution of food surpluses in favour of charitable organisations.

For each tray requested at the restaurant, and used to take home leftover food, Just Eat will donate 1 meal to the Food Bank: just post on Instagram a photo of the Save Bag, or the dinner recovered, using the hashtag #iononsprecoconsavebag and tagging the page @justeat_it.

Just Eat will also reward the customer, for the first tray posted, with a discount of 15% that can be used to order a home meal from your favorite restaurant (more information on the site of the operation)

The aim is to make people aware of the value of food, but also to break down the wall of embarrassment that stops more than 58% of Italians from asking to take home leftovers from a restaurant (research conducted by Cuki in 2018).

The initiative is in fact part of the range of activities that Cuki has been carrying out for years in support of Banco Alimentare under the banner of Cuki Save the Food to contribute to the fight against food waste, in favour of the most needy.

When I eat I use my head because if you don't waste, it's good twice over!
