CUKI PRODUCTS ARE MADE USING SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS.
This helps to safeguard both the environment and natural resources.
A metal with unique qualities: it is infinitely recyclable without losing its properties and can even come into contact with food when recycled. Its recycling provides clear environmental and energy benefits: in 2024, over 62,400 tonnes of aluminium packaging were recycled in Italy, preventing the emission of 442,000 tonnes of CO₂ and saving 95% of the energy required compared to producing from raw materials.
With a recycling rate of 68.2%, Italy confirms the strength of its collection and treatment system, according to 2024 data from the CIAL Consortium (https://www.cial.it/risultati-riciclo-alluminio/)
Cuki baking paper is made from virgin cellulose fibres derived from wood harvested from sustainably managed forests.
It is also recyclable and certified compostable, thanks to a manufacturing process that ensures strong bonding between the fibres, forming a dense and natural barrier of pure cellulose on the paper.

A highly sustainable plastic material: after use, Cuki polyethylene products can be disposed of in separate plastic collection bins and sent for recycling to be transformed into new products.
Cuki uses two types of cardboard: PET-laminated and PLA-laminated.
PET-laminated cardboard
PET-laminated cardboard, used for trays and lids, is always recyclable with paper. Made with material from responsibly managed forests certified by FSC® and other controlled sources, it has earned the Recyclable with paper – Level B Aticelca® 501 mark.

PLA-laminated cardboard
PLA-laminated cardboard, used for producing compostable cardboard plates, can be disposed of in organic waste if dirty or with paper if free from food residues. Also made with material from responsibly managed forests certified by FSC® and other controlled sources, it has obtained the Recyclable with paper – Level B Aticelca® 501 mark and is certified by TÜV AUSTRIA OK COMPOST, confirming its compostability.

A fully biodegradable and compostable bioplastic that meets the European standard UNI EN 13432, made from renewable plant-based raw materials sourced from an Italian production chain. Cuki Mater-Bi products can be disposed of in separate organic waste collection and sent for organic recycling in composting facilities.

In 2018, Cuki was selected as one of the top 100 Italian companies in terms of commitment to the circular economy.
